The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Dayo Israel, has described the successful rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and their teachers in Oyo State as a major victory for Nigeria and a strong indication that the country will not bow to terrorism or criminality.
In a statement, Israel expressed profound gratitude over the safe return of the victims, saying the rescue had brought immense relief to their families and restored hope to Nigerians. He noted that although the victims had regained their freedom, the emotional and psychological impact of the ordeal would require sustained care, compassion and support.
The APC youth leader commended the gallantry, professionalism and sacrifice of the nation’s security agencies, including the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), intelligence operatives and local vigilance groups, for their coordinated efforts that led to the successful operation.
He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its continued investment in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture through improved intelligence, technology, inter-agency collaboration and enhanced operational capacity, saying the latest rescue demonstrates that the government’s security reforms are producing measurable results.
Israel warned kidnappers and other criminal elements that Nigeria would never surrender to terror, stressing that those who target innocent children and families have no place in society and must face the full weight of the law.
He urged security agencies to sustain the momentum by intensifying intelligence gathering, strengthening community engagement and preventing future attacks before they occur.
He further assured parents across the country that every child deserves to attend school without fear, while every teacher should be able to carry out their duties in safety.
Congratulating the rescued pupils and teachers for their courage and resilience, Israel prayed for their complete recovery and reaffirmed that Nigeria belongs to law-abiding citizens, not criminals.
He expressed confidence that with determined leadership and continued public support for security agencies, the country would overcome insecurity and secure a safer future for all.
