Prince Demola Adeloye has unveiled plans to begin the preliminary groundwork for the establishment of an Ondo State airline through private sector partnerships, insisting that the biggest challenge in launching an airline is not acquiring aircraft but developing a clear vision, proper planning, and meeting regulatory requirements.
Adeloye said the proposed Ondo Airline initiative, under the OWN ONDO 2028 agenda, is aimed at driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities, attracting investors, and improving air connectivity for the state.
According to him, successful airlines across the world were built through private investment, strategic aircraft leasing, sound management, and strong partnerships, rather than governments purchasing fleets from the outset.
“Many people assume that starting an airline is impossible. The truth is, the most difficult part is not the aircraft, it is the vision, the planning, the regulatory process, and building the right partnerships,” he stated.
He noted that every major project begins with detailed planning, documentation, and people who believe in its success, adding that the preliminary steps toward the Ondo Airline project have already commenced through private partnerships.
Adeloye emphasized that the initiative is not driven by political rhetoric but by a long-term economic vision that seeks to position Ondo State as a hub for investment, commerce, tourism, and improved transportation.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the OWN ONDO 2028 agenda, describing the proposed airline as a forward-thinking project capable of unlocking new economic opportunities and accelerating the state’s development.
