The Petroleum, Environmental and Solid Minerals Degradation Awareness Association has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Students to promote youth development, environmental sustainability, and national progress.
The collaboration, anchored on a shared vision of responsible environmental practices, aims to raise awareness on the impact of petroleum and solid minerals related activities, environmental degradation, and poor solid waste management across the country.
Under the partnership, both organisations will roll out advocacy campaigns, educational programmes, and community-based initiatives designed to equip Nigerian students with the knowledge and practical tools needed to tackle pressing environmental challenges.
The initiative will also provide platforms for students to actively participate in policy dialogues, climate action programmes, and responsible resource management efforts. This, stakeholders say, is expected to foster a culture of environmental stewardship within tertiary institutions nationwide.
By leveraging the expansive student network of NANS alongside the technical expertise of PESMDAA in environmental advocacy, the alliance seeks to nurture a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders.
This partnership if well articulated could be a turning point for Nigerian youths at the forefront of driving sustainable solutions for the country’s future.
