The distribution exercise, coordinated by the State Director of the movement, Femi Ayejusunle, took place at the Akure Arcade Ground in Akure, where a large number of beneficiaries gathered to receive the palliative items.
The City Boy Movement, a nationwide socio-political organisation with structures across the 36 states of the federation, is led at the national level by its Director-General, Francis Shoga.
Speaking during the event, Ayejusunle said the initiative was aimed at providing support for Muslim faithful in the state, particularly during challenging economic conditions, adding that the gesture was part of the movement’s commitment to humanitarian service and community development.
He noted that the distribution of the relief materials was intended to ease the financial burden on families and promote a sense of solidarity within the community.
Some beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed appreciation to the organisation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.
One of the beneficiaries, Kubura Simbiat, commended the City Boy Movement for what she described as a selfless service to the people, urging other organisations and individuals to emulate such acts of kindness aimed at supporting the less privileged in society.
