The Executive Chairman of Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Johnson Ogunbolude, has condemned the killing of the traditional ruler of Agamo Community, Oba Kehinde Falodun, describing the act as barbaric and unacceptable.
Oba Falodun, the Alagamo of Agamo, was reportedly killed by suspected attackers on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in an incident that has thrown the community into mourning.
In a condolence message, Ogunbolude expressed deep sympathy to the people of Agamo and the family of the late monarch, noting that the attack calls for increased security vigilance across the local government and the state.
He urged residents to remain calm but vigilant, stressing the importance of being security conscious at all times.
The council boss assured that efforts were underway to track down those responsible for the killing, adding that security agencies would be strengthened and reinforced to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
He called on the community to remain united and cooperate with security operatives during the period of investigation.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property in Akure North, while praying for the repose of the soul of the late monarch.
