The Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, has led top chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the official launch of the party’s electronic membership registration exercise in the local government area.
The e-registration exercise, which commenced on January 5, 2026, is expected to last for three weeks. It is aimed at strengthening the party’s membership database and ensuring proper identification of bona fide party members.
Speaking at the event held at the residence of Senator Ajayi Boroffice Alasoadura in Iju, Hon. Ogunbolude urged residents of Akure North, particularly APC members, to come out en masse and participate in the exercise.
He described the e-registration as a vital process, noting that it serves as the primary means of identifying party members and the yardstick for claiming full rights and privileges within the APC.
“This registration is very important. It is the only way to confirm your membership status and your right within the party. I encourage all APC members in Akure North to take it seriously and participate fully,” Ogunbolude said.
The council chairman further explained that the Voter’s Identification Number (VIN) and the National Identification Number (NIN) are the major requirements for the registration.
Earlier in the day, the e-registration exercise was also conducted at Hon. Ogunbolude’s residence in his hometown of Iju, where coordinators and agents from all the 12 wards in Akure North Local Government were present.
Other APC leaders in the local government who attended the launch also encouraged party members to proceed to their respective wards to complete their registration promptly.
The APC leadership in Akure North expressed optimism that the exercise would further strengthen the party’s structure and unity ahead of future political engagements.
