The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the official opening of its recruitment portal for the enlistment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen national security through expanded manpower and a merit-driven selection process.
In a statement released on Thursday, the PSC said the recruitment, conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, will be transparent, credible, and fully technology-driven. Interested and qualified Nigerians are invited to apply online as the portal opens on Monday, December 15, 2025.
“This recruitment is a pivotal step toward building a more responsive, modern, and community-focused police service,” the Commission said. It added that the injection of 50,000 fresh officers is expected to boost operational capacity, improve public safety, and restore citizens’ confidence in law enforcement nationwide.
ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
The recruitment covers two broad categories: General Duty Constables and Specialist Constables.
General Duty Cadre
- Education: Minimum of five credits in GCE O’Level/SSCE/NECO, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
- Age: 18–25 years.
- Height: At least 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female).
- Character: Applicants must present clean records with no prior convictions and provide credible character references.
Specialists Cadre
(Such as drivers, mechanics, technicians, medical aides, ICT personnel, and others)
- Education: Minimum of four O’Level credits including English and Mathematics.
- Experience: At least three years’ experience in the relevant field plus a Trade Test certificate.
- Age: 18–28 years.
- Skills: Priority will be given to applicants with verified technical or professional competence.
The PSC stressed that the entire exercise will be strictly merit-based, adding that no applicant will be recruited through influence or backdoor channels.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE

- Create an account with a valid email and phone number.
- Complete the online form and upload required documents such as birth certificate, academic credentials, and passport photograph.
- Submit and print the acknowledgement slip.

PSC ISSUES WARNING AGAINST FRAUDSTERS
The Commission cautioned the public to beware of fraudsters posing as recruitment agents or demanding money to secure placement. It reiterated that the entire recruitment process is free, and applicants should report any solicitation for payment.
