Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reinforced the state’s security architecture with the commissioning of a modern Command and Control Centre at the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure.
The commissioning, held on Monday, December 1, 2025, also featured the unveiling of a new Training Auditorium and the maiden Annual General Meeting of the Amotekun Corps Cooperative Society — further signalling a major boost to the state’s security capacity.
Speaking at the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa declared that security governance must be a shared responsibility between citizens and the government, describing it as “a continuous journey” that demands constant vigilance and collaboration. He emphasized that protecting lives and property remains central to his administration’s “OUR EASE” policy agenda.
He praised the leadership of the Amotekun Corps, especially Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, for the dedication and commitment reflected in the successful completion of the Command and Control Centre.
According to him, the facility will significantly improve real-time intelligence gathering, tactical communication, and coordinated response to threats across the state.
The governor also announced the approval for the recruitment of 500 additional Amotekun personnel, a move aimed at strengthening manpower, deepening community intelligence, and expanding operational coverage across the 18 local government areas.
Aiyedatiwa paid glowing tribute to the late former governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, describing him as a visionary whose courage laid the foundation for Amotekun and reshaped security collaboration in the South-West.
In his remarks, Commander Adeleye reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding Ondo communities, noting that the new facilities and continuous training have improved professionalism, morale, and rapid response capabilities.
He highlighted the Corps’ reliance on intelligence-driven operations and credited strong political will for its sustained success.
Security chiefs from the Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC, and DSS also commended the governor for his unwavering support, stressing that the synergy among security agencies has been instrumental in maintaining Ondo’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states.
The event drew dignitaries including the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, top government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and senior security officers , all united in applauding the administration’s renewed commitment to a safer Ondo State.
