Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has restated his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of all residents of the state, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or cultural background.
The Governor gave the assurance on Friday, September 5, 2025, in Akure, when he received the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State alongside representatives of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the Hausa community for their contributions to the relative peace enjoyed in the state and urged them to continue fostering unity, living harmoniously in their communities, and shunning acts capable of damaging their reputation.
He stressed that ensuring security remains a collective responsibility and assured that his government will continue to prioritize the safety and protection of all residents.
Also speaking, APC chieftain, Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba, noted that the meeting was convened to promote unity, strengthen religious tolerance, and enhance security cooperation among communities in Ondo State.
Responding on behalf of the community, the Secretary to the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State, Mr. Abdulsalam Musa, appealed for improved social amenities, including health centres, as well as formal recognition of Hausa monarchs in the state.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Commander of Amotekun Corps, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye; Sarkin Hausa from the 18 local government areas of Ondo State; and the Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede, among others.
