The ancient town of Okitipupa stood still yesterday as political heavyweights and thousands of enthusiastic party faithful converged for a massive mega rally to solidify support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, ahead of this Saturday’s highly anticipated Ondo South senatorial bye-election.
The rally, which brought economic activities in the area to a temporary halt, served as a powerful declaration of solidarity from the national and state leadership of the ruling party.
The APC State Chairman, Hon Babatunde Kolawole, led the party structure at the event, representing the political structure of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and delivering the governor’s total endorsement of the candidate.
Top government officials, party leaders, and influential political stakeholders took turns on the podium to endorse the former Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) President, describing him as the most competent and intellectually equipped candidate to represent the district at the Red Chamber.
Among the prominent bigwigs present to rally support for Faduyile were the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami; the APC National Vice Chairman (South-West), Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke; frontline political leader, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN; Executive Director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Hon. Ifeoluwa Oyedele; and the Member of the House of Representatives representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Hon. Jimi Odimayo.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, the party leaders emphasized that the election of Prof. Faduyile is vital to securing effective federal representation and fast-tracking infrastructural development for the coastal region.
They urged voters across the six local government areas of the district to turn out in large numbers this Saturday to cast their votes for the APC, assuring them that a victory for Faduyile is a guarantee for reliable healthcare, economic growth, and youth empowerment.
An overwhelmed Prof. Faduyile expressed deep gratitude to the party leadership, Governor Aiyedatiwa, and the good people of Ondo South for their unwavering support.
He reiterated his commitment to transforming the socio-economic narrative of the district through impactful legislation, promising never to betray the trust reposed in him by the electorate.
With the massive show of force at yesterday’s rally, political analysts widely tip the APC and its visionary candidate to coast to a decisive victory at the weekend polls.
