The Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Ogunbolude Johnson, has felicitated with Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day, commending their contributions to national development.
In a statement issued on May 1, the council boss described workers as the engine room of Nigeria’s economy, acknowledging their vital role in driving growth and sustaining productivity across various sectors.
He praised the resilience and dedication of workers, noting that their efforts remain central to the country’s progress despite prevailing economic challenges.
Ogunbolude, however, called for increased support for government programmes and policies at all levels, stressing the need for collaboration between workers and leadership to achieve sustainable development.
He also urged public servants to be more proactive, committed, and dedicated in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing professionalism and service delivery.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare in Akure North Local Government, promising continued prioritisation of incentives and recognition for outstanding performance.
