The Chairman of Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, has launched a bursary scheme for students of higher institutions who are indigenes of the council area.
The initiative, announced on February 9, 2026, is part of activities marking the chairman’s one year in office and is aimed at supporting students and easing the financial burden associated with tertiary education.
According to a statement issued by the chairman’s media team, the bursary programme underscores Hon. Johnson’s commitment to promoting education and empowering youths within the local government.
The statement explained that registration for the bursary will be coordinated through the National Association of Akure North Students, which will make the application link available to interested candidates.
The council boss urged eligible students to contact the students’ association to access the registration details and benefit from the scheme.
Hon. Johnson expressed optimism that the bursary programme would provide financial relief to beneficiaries and encourage academic excellence among students from the local government area.
