Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, inaugurated newly appointed and reappointed Special Advisers, the Director-General of the Performance and Projects Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU), as well as the new Chairman and members of the Ondo State Law Commission, with a clear charge to add measurable value to governance in the State.
The ceremony, held at the Cocoa Conference Centre, Governor’s Office, Akure, formed part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen its governance framework in line with the “OUR EASE” policy direction.
Governor Aiyedatiwa described the appointments as the product of rigorous, merit-based evaluation aimed at assembling a team that embodies competence, character and patriotism. He said public office must be seen as a sacred responsibility focused on delivering results that improve the lives of citizens.
“The applause that greets your appointment today must be matched by the applause that greets your performance tomorrow. We will note efforts, but we value results more,” the Governor said, urging the appointees to approach their assignments with diligence, humility and a deliberate drive for excellence.
He emphasised that governance is not about holding power but deploying authority for the advancement of human dignity. He added that while some appointees were returning due to exceptional performance, others were new entrants expected to infuse fresh ideas and innovation.
The newly sworn-in Special Advisers include Hon. Olugbenga Omole (Transport), Comrade Gani Mohammed (Special Duties and Strategy), Allen Sowore (Communication and Strategy), Dr. Summy Smart Francis (Entrepreneurship & Innovation), Dr. Tunji Rhema (Environment), Mrs. Kikelomo Ikuomola (Public Affairs & Intergovernmental Relations), Engr. Wale Aladenusi (Marine & Blue Economy), Hon. Kolawole Babatunde (Legislative and Party Affairs), and Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa (Local Government Affairs).
The Governor also detailed the crucial responsibilities of the Director-General of PPIMU, stressing the need for strict project monitoring, transparency, fiscal discipline and effective coordination across MDAs to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Aiyedatiwa further inaugurated the Ondo State Law Commission, appointing Mr. Femi Okunjemiruwa Esq. as Chairman, alongside regional representatives Olufemi Mayor Omosua Esq., Raymond Olaleye Ogunmoyero Esq., Oladehingbe Sunday Esq. and Tope Olajube Esq. He charged them to reform and modernise the State’s legal framework to align with evolving societal needs.
The Governor highlighted ongoing achievements in agriculture, urban renewal, food security, education, rural access and security, noting that these efforts continue to position Ondo State as a rising investment destination.
