President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the inclusion of the construction of two major federal roads in Ekiti State – Itawure–Aramoko–Ado Ekiti and Aramoko–Ijero–Ifaki Ekiti, in the 2026 Federal Government budget.
The Stewardship News gathered that the latest approval follows several appeals from stakeholders and the Ekiti State Government for urgent intervention to rehabilitate critical road networks linking key communities across the state.
The two projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity, ease the movement of goods and people, and boost economic activities within Ekiti and neighbouring states.
Tinubu’s directive mandates the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure the roads are fully captured in the 2026 Appropriation Bill and that preliminary work begins immediately after budget approval.
Residents and community leaders have commended the president for the move, describing it as a long-awaited step toward addressing infrastructure decay and fostering regional development in Ekiti State.
