Billionaire businessman and politician, Prince Ned Nwoko, has opened up on the alleged cause of the crisis rocking his marriage to popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, and the rift between him and her family members.
In a detailed statement obtained on his official X social handle, Nwoko revealed shocking details about the level of financial and moral support he had extended to Regina and her family before the relationship turned sour.
According to him, he had invested heavily in the welfare of the Daniels family, including sponsoring Regina’s brother, Sammy, through his final years at the University of Ekpoma, renting and furnishing an apartment for him in Abuja, and even buying a house in Asaba for Regina’s use before their marriage.
“I bought a house for Regina in Asaba before we got married, for her and her family. I also routinely gave allowances to all members of the family, including her mother, Rita Daniels, who alone received about ₦125 million from me in the last two years,” Nwoko disclosed.
The lawmaker further stated that he sponsored Regina’s brother, Lawrence, for his master’s degree in London, spending $75,000 on tuition and living expenses, adding that he offered Sammy a similar opportunity, which he declined.
However, Nwoko alleged that the once cordial relationship later turned into hostility and harassment from Regina’s siblings and friends, particularly Sammy, who he accused of consistently invading his home and frustrating Regina’s medical rehabilitation process.
He claimed that Regina had been undergoing therapy for alleged drug dependence, but her family members and close friends, whom he described as “enablers,” repeatedly interfered and smuggled substances to her, against doctors’ instructions.
“Sammy, Destiny, and others would forcefully enter the house and bring her the same drugs she was being treated for. Instead of supporting her recovery, they sabotaged it,” he alleged.
Nwoko recounted several incidents, including one where Sammy reportedly stormed his house at night to confront him after he asked Sammy’s girlfriend to leave his compound, and another where Regina left home for a nightclub and stayed out all night.
“The entire household lived in fear because of their constant harassment and disregard for boundaries,” he said.
The politician denied allegations that he sent thugs to attack Regina, insisting that the viral video circulating online was staged by her siblings at his house in his absence.
“The video was filmed in front of my house by Regina’s sister and her friend. Nobody was beaten. It was a pure Nollywood scenario created for social media attention,” he maintained.
Nwoko advised Regina’s siblings, especially Sammy, to seek rehabilitation and focus on their own lives instead of interfering in his family affairs.
“Sammy needs total rehabilitation and professional guidance. Otherwise, his aggression and self-destructive tendencies will only worsen,” he concluded.
It will be recalled that the crisis, which has lasted for over a week, has already led to the arrest and detention of Sammy, Regina’s brother, while other suspects are still being sought by the police, according to Nwoko. The development has continued to generate widespread reactions and heated debates across social media platforms.
