The collation of results from the Edo State governorship election has revealed a strong performance by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has won four out of the seven local government areas (LGAs) reported so far.
In **Ovia North East LGA**, the PDP achieved a decisive win with 15,311 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) followed with 13,225 votes. The Labour Party (LP) secured 1,675 votes.
Similarly, the PDP claimed victory in **Esan South East LGA** with 14,199 votes, compared to the APC’s 8,398 votes, and the LP’s 98 votes.
Earlier results showed a tie in **Ovia North East LGA**, where both the PDP and APC received 13,225 votes, while LP came in third. In **Uhunmwonde LGA**, the PDP led with 9,339 votes, with the APC closely trailing at 8,776 votes and the LP at 769.
The APC had secured victories in **Owan West LGA** (12,277 votes to PDP’s 11,284) and **Esan West LGA** (12,952 votes to PDP’s 11,004). In **Igueben LGA**, the PDP emerged victorious with 8,470 votes, while the APC received 5,907 votes and the LP 494 votes.
The ongoing results indicate a competitive contest, with the PDP currently in the lead. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is overseeing the process, assuring the public of a transparent collation while calling for patience from voters and party supporters.
