On Saturday, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, cast his vote in the ongoing governorship election at polling unit 19, Ward 4, Oredo, located within Emokpae Primary School, Benin City.
The governor arrived at the polling unit in the late morning and voted at approximately 11:57 am. After exercising his civic duty, Governor Obaseki expressed satisfaction with the voting process, describing it as smooth and orderly.
He also expressed optimism that the collation of votes would proceed without hitches, hoping for a seamless process that reflects the will of the people.
Speaking to journalists after casting his vote, Obaseki commended the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful environment that allowed voters to participate freely in the election.
With high voter turnout across several polling units, the governor urged Edo residents to continue coming out to vote, emphasizing the importance of their participation in determining the future leadership of the state.
