Voters in Ward 7, Unit 39, are facing frustration due to the failure of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine, leaving 839 registered voters waiting for a replacement from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
The polling unit official has assured that a new machine will be brought in, and there’s hope that the voting time will be extended.
A senior citizen, Friday Aiwekhoe, expressed disappointment at the machine’s failure despite INEC’s preparations, questioning whether it might be a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise voters.
This incident raises concerns about the reliability of the BVAS technology, which was introduced to enhance the electoral process by INEC.
