The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has made a significant move to curb electoral malpractices by arresting several individuals suspected of vote-buying in the Egan Local Government Area of Edo State. The arrests were made on Saturday, September 21, during the gubernatorial election.
According to eyewitnesses, the EFCC operatives apprehended the suspects while they were allegedly inducing voters with financial incentives in exchange for their votes. The suspects were reportedly surrounded by voters and onlookers when they were taken into custody.
