The Ondo State High Court has declared the recent creation of Local Government Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state as unconstitutional, null, and void.
The court nullified 33 LCDAs created by former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. The court emphasized that it is illegal for a Governor to sign a law outside the state. Consequently, the Local Government Creation Law 2023, which was signed in Ibadan, has been deemed unconstitutional, illegal, null, and void.
