We read and observed with utmost laughter about the comical gathering of a group of people in Akure North LGA of Ondo State in the house of one Mr Sunday Falae on the 12th of May, 2023. The public is aware of the constitutional right of people to gather in Nigeria but the content of such gathering is what would define the rightness or otherwise of such. As such, the report we got after the meeting and what we later read on social media about the meeting at Sunday Falae’s house signposts a gathering of waning comedians who had concatenated in the mode of an evening of thousand laughs to act scenes of comic relief.
We would like to entertain insightful contributions from the public on why most people who self styled themselves political leaders, in spite of having no electoral value, have no iota of shame whatsoever? The public can send us feedbacks on this enquiry after digesting this concise note.
However, we would like to x-ray for the public why feathers from the same cirrhotic bird had decided to flock together and why they are now fidgeting because of the unity move for a strong and united Akure North LGA by the Progressive Winning Structures in the Local Government.
Beginning with Mr Sunday Falae, a chronic anti-party man who in 2019 despite being in APC joined hands with Eyitayo Jegede’s PDP about a week into the gubernatorial election; worked and voted for PDP in same election found his way by imposition to become the Akure North campaign Director General in the last elections. But, alas! He could not win even his unit in those elections and failed woefully to the opposition. This same man who has become a constant punching customer bag to Dayo Awude of the PDP in his Eleyowo/Ilu-abo ward 6 was the one who by proxy called a “get together” party in his Ijapo house on the 12th of May 2023, only for some unsuspecting leaders to get there and found out that a get together party has been turned to a party meeting. What a deceitful entity! Leaders whom God gave discerning instinct not to attend such get together had since been thanking God for saving them from an embarrassing gathering of comic actors. One is forced to ask, of what political value and electoral importance is a man whose political biography cannot be complete without mentioning his anti-party activities against the APC and the recurrent lose of his unit and ward to the opposition?
How shall one not mention Hon. Kenneth Olawale, an elder- statesman whom reasoning demands that provides leadership to Progressive winning structures in the Local Government, going by virtue of his political height as a one time Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly? But what has become of our revered leader since he kowtowed under the whims and caprices of his Oba-Ile political son turned lord is what remains unclear. Is Hon. Dapo Filani not in that ward? This is a Dapo Filani who has demonstrated loyalty to Progressive Winning Structure politics and ensured that losers have no place in the local government. Even the meeting at Sunday Falae’s house, Hon. Dapo Filani expressed disappointment at such meeting calling it a meeting called from a deceitful mouth. And from available facts on our table, since Hon. Kenneth Olawale became a pencil in the hands of his Oba-Ile lord has he began to dwindle politically. We are forced to ask whether this is not the Kenneth Olawale who once stood tall amidst great politicians and leaders like former Governor Amaechi and Governor Wike of Rivers State? Only God knows what tore down Hon. Kenneth Olawale from a national political leader that he is meant to be to becoming a mere Igbatoro ward 4 political leader. And to make matters worse, his Oba-Ile political lord has hijacked even that his Igbatoro from him to the point that instructions about how Igbatoro’s politics must play out must come from the Oba-Ile man. Such culminated into the failure that APC recorded in the Familugba unit of the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly. We wouldn’t want to call our revered elder statesman a loser by will. His recent failures in elections can only be attributed to his alliance and willful submission to the sinister whims and caprices of the Oba-Ile man whose tool to holding our revered leader down is an unavailable state appointment. How we wish Hon. Kenneth Olawale can recalibrate his political history, chart a new direction and dump alliance that has not brought for him any good since he joined them than failure and a calculated push to political obscurity.
The ring leader and lord of the concatenation of losers, Mr Saka Yusuf whose Oba-Ile ward has never been won by APC since 2015 has become a clog in the progressive wheel of the APC in the local government. This is a man who had changed unit multiple times in an attempt to curtail constant failure but still failed woefully had resorted into witch-hunting and calling for the suspension of party members in the local government. Is it not worth asking why Saka Yusuf wants many party members, especially those not from his axis suspended from the party? Why is Saka Yusuf hell-bent on depleting APC membership in other axes where the strength of the party lies? Is Saka Yusuf on a mission to destroy the APC in Akure North LGA? Anyway, we are not caught unaware. It is always the wish and will of a known loser to always want to gather like-minded people and feathers from the same bird to subvert the will of the progressive and winning structures.
Shall we not also mention one Akinola Sunmbo Obe, another serial loser from Igbatoro among the league of failures in Akure North? This is a self styled political Lilliputian leader who deliberately orchestrated the failure of the APC in many of the Igbatoro units in the last elections. From available facts on our table, Mr Akinola Sunmbo Obe during the general polls and House of Assembly elections refused to release election money to APC members. He instead released APC election money to opposition PDP members in a political ideology that remains unexplainable till now. Little wonder he lost his unit in Igbatoro, and one is forced to ask why such a man is an arrow head among people attempting to suspend loyal party members whom he met in the party?
What of Mr Tayo Fayanju who lost his unit in the last MHA election? This man not only lost his unit but his political irrelevance which had almost declared him a persona non grata in his Iju home is something that would make one want to ask many questions. Among such questions is; why is Tayo Fayanju hell-bent on suspending those he considers as political threats to his Chairmanship ambition? Probably he forgot that only God gives position.
In summary, we wish to make it clear to the Concatenation of Losers in Akure North that the Progressive Winning Structures in Akure North LGA had come to stay. While we are keen about party discipline and not against peole who actually engaged in anti-party activities being disciplined; we would also like to emphasize that assumed and perceived political enemies of the losing group would not be allowed to be victimized and persecuted by people who have no political values and electoral importance. We would also want to advise these people to have a rethink of their regressive political mindset and come together with the winning team in Akure North. They should know that they cannot be losing their units and wards all the time and still want to witch-hunt those whose strength and united front have always given the APC party the needed victories in the local government. They have been advised to have shame and exercise decorum, at least, so that they can have avenue to probably redeem their soiled and dented political image.
