Suspected gunmen have brutally murdered Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Alagamo of Agamọ, in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Details of the attack were still sketchy as of press time, but the Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude, who confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation with The Stewardship, said the assailants stormed the monarch’s palace on Wednesday evening and was hit on the head.
According to family source, the abduction attempt was resisted by the monarch, leading to a violent attack.
Sources disclosed that the gunmen initially shot at the monarch several times, but when the bullets failed to penetrate his body, they reportedly struck him on the head with a weapon, resulting in his death.
The monarch’s wife, who also confirmed the incident, said the attackers were speaking Hausa and reportedly gained access to the community through the Ita‑Ogbolu axis.
