Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reassured citizens that his administration will not abandon any ongoing projects, pledging full commitment to infrastructural and economic development across the state.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure on Friday, August 29, 2025, the governor reiterated that all inherited and newly initiated projects would be completed, with a focus on roads, industries, and grassroots development.
“We have signed MoUs for the establishment of a cement factory, a fertilizer plant, and a petrochemical industry in Ondo State. These are strategic projects designed to create jobs and boost our economy. Beyond that, we are also taking steps to assume responsibility for some federal roads to ease the burden on our people,” Aiyedatiwa said, listing Ikare-Akoko, Idanre-Akure, and Okitipupa-Igbokoda as priority road corridors.
He further charged APC members to intensify mobilization for the 2027 general elections, highlighting the Renewed Hope Initiative, which targets at least 1,000 new members per ward.
APC State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, praised the governor for sustaining regular stakeholder engagements and urged members to return to the grassroots to consolidate the party’s dominance.
Other speakers, including Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, High Chief Jamiu Ekungba, and Chief Agboola Kelly, described Governor Aiyedatiwa’s developmental strides as visible across all 18 local government areas, pledging continued support for his leadership.
The meeting was attended by top political leaders such as Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, and Secretary to the State Government Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, among others.
