Joseph Adesuyan has emerged as the new Chairman of the Ondo State Online Media Professionals (OMP) after securing victory in a keenly contested election.
The election results, announced by the Chairman and Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Richard Ilesanmi and Kayode Animasaun, showed Adesuyan polling 11 votes to defeat his sole challenger, Temitope Adedeji, who scored 3 votes.
Other positions were returned unopposed, with Agidi Mary elected Treasurer with 13 votes and Isaac Afolabi securing 13 votes to become Financial Secretary. The committee declared the election free, fair, and devoid of void ballots.
In his acceptance speech, Adesuyan expressed appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in him, promising to lead with integrity, dedication, and a commitment to the growth of the association.
He also extended an olive branch to his opponent, Temitope Adedeji, urging him to join hands in strengthening and uniting the OMP.
The new leadership is expected to steer the association towards greater professionalism, collaboration, and advocacy for online media practitioners in Ondo State.
