Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has announced plans to establish a football academy in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward disclosed this in a post on his official Instagram handle, where he expressed his commitment to youth development and grassroots football in Nigeria.
Boniface, who hails from Akure, said the project would serve as a platform to discover and nurture young talents in Ondo State and beyond, with the aim of giving them international exposure and opportunities to pursue professional careers.
“This is a dream come true for me. Setting up a football academy in my hometown means a lot. It is my own way of giving back, and I am excited about the future stars that will emerge from here,” he wrote.
The academy, according to him, will provide training, mentorship, and educational support for upcoming footballers, ensuring they are well-grounded both on and off the pitch.
Boniface’s announcement has already sparked excitement among fans in Ondo State, many of whom see the project as a huge boost to sports development in the region.
