The Ondo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development through regional integration and diaspora relations as key drivers of economic growth and social transformation.
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, through the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, is spearheading initiatives that position the state as a hub for regional cooperation, cross-border partnerships, and diaspora-driven investment.
Speaking with stakeholders in Akure, the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, stressed the importance of leveraging the expertise, resources, and networks of Ondo indigenes across the globe. He noted that diaspora contributions, combined with strengthened regional ties, would open new markets, attract foreign capital, and spur innovation.
“Our strength lies not only within Ondo State but also in the wealth of experience and resources of our diaspora community. By bridging borders and building sustainable partnerships, we are creating opportunities that will transform our economy and improve the lives of our people,” Akinlosotu said.
The government’s strategy, aligned with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s OUR EASE Agenda, focuses on four key areas: economic integration, diaspora engagement, security of investments, and cultural diplomacy. These policies aim to protect investors, encourage knowledge transfer, and promote Ondo State’s rich heritage for global recognition and economic benefits.
With these deliberate steps, Ondo State is positioning itself at the forefront of regional cooperation and diaspora collaboration in Nigeria. The administration has assured residents that its programs will remain people-centered, ensuring that communities across the state directly benefit from investments and partnerships.
Reiterating his vision, Governor Aiyedatiwa said, “Ondo State is open for business, open for partnerships, and open for the future.”
