Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a notorious armed robbery suspect, Omotayo Iwajomo, during a tactical operation in Ikorodu.
The arrest, which took place on July 15, 2025, around 1:00 a.m., followed credible intelligence gathered by the Command’s Special Tactical Operatives.
According to police authorities, items recovered from the suspect include one AK-49 rifle with Breech No. N704983, three magazines, 17 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and three rounds of 9.19mm live ammunition.
The suspect has since confessed to being the leader of a robbery gang responsible for several violent crimes across Lagos. He is currently in custody and assisting investigators in tracking down other members of the gang.
The police assured residents of their commitment to combating crime and urged the public to continue providing useful information to aid security operations in the state.
