Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has declared full support for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and reaffirmed his commitment to the second-term ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The endorsement came during a high-energy All Progressives Congress (APC) rally held at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, July 28, 2025.

Addressing a crowd of party loyalists, leaders, and supporters, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised Governor Oyebanji popularly known as BAO for his visionary leadership, people-focused policies, and developmental impact across Ekiti State. He described Oyebanji as a “committed and result-driven leader” who deserves another term to consolidate on his achievements.
“Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental strides across the state are visible and commendable. He deserves a second term,” Aiyedatiwa stated, urging Ekiti residents to rally behind the APC candidate for another term in office.
The Ondo State Governor also drew parallels to the APC’s sweeping victory in the 2024 Ondo gubernatorial elections, where the party won all 18 local governments. He challenged APC leaders and stakeholders in Ekiti to replicate the feat by delivering all 16 LGAs in the forthcoming poll.
In a broader political message, Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated the South West’s strong backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, stating that all 23 APC-governed states have aligned with the Renewed Hope agenda, with plans already underway to ensure continuity beyond 2027.
“The project to secure a second term for President Tinubu has begun in earnest. The APC is united, and our focus is clear: sustaining the gains and deepening the impact of the Renewed Hope administration,” Aiyedatiwa added.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji, in his response, thanked party members and stakeholders for their overwhelming support, calling the rally a “historic moment” for Ekiti APC. He praised the growing unity within the party and assured the people of continued development and good governance.
Oyebanji also encouraged citizens to participate in the upcoming voter registration exercise, promising that his administration would collaborate with relevant agencies to ensure a seamless and inclusive process.
The rally was well attended by prominent political figures from Ondo and Ekiti states, including former Senator Tayo Alasoadura; Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Director of Corporate Affairs at the NDDC; Mrs. Seun Osamaye, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development; and Mr. Smart Omodumbi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters.
