While many celebrated February 14th with flowers and chocolates, in Ondo State, the day held deeper significance.
It was the birthday of High Chief Bamidele Omosehin, and in his absence, his foundation ensured the day was filled with kindness and generosity.
The Bamidele Omosehin Foundation (BOF) team led by the program coordinator Mr Femi Kalejaye began their humanitarian outreach at Christ Orphanage Home in Ondo Town, donating food, toiletries, and essential supplies.
The orphanage’s proprietor, Evangelist Solayide Akokewa Olaseinde, expressed gratitude. “Chief Bamidele’s generosity reminds us that true love is about giving,” she said.
At the State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa, relief items were distributed to patients and staff. Chief Matron Nurse Augustine Agofure, appreciative of the gesture, noted,
“This isn’t the first time BOF has supported us. Their continued assistance is making a real difference.”
The outreach extended to the Nigerian Correctional Service in Okitipupa, where inmates received gifts. A representative of the prison authorities acknowledged the rarity of such acts.
“Most people forget prisoners, but this act of kindness gives them hope for a second chance,” he remarked.
The day’s activities culminated at Chief Bamidele’s residence in Iju-Odo, where a large gathering of widows and vulnerable community members received food, financial support, and empowerment tools.
Business grants, a deep freezer for a fish vendor, and an educational scholarship were among the life-changing gifts.
Speaking on behalf of Chief Bamidele, the Executive Director of the Bamidele Omosehin Leadership Development Initiative (BOLD Initiative) reaffirmed the celebrant’s unwavering commitment to community development.
“Chief Bamidele believes in uplifting others. His generosity is not about politics but about service,” he stated.
Despite his absence, the overwhelming success of the outreach reinforced Chief Bamidele Omosehin’s legacy of philanthropy. His birthday was more than a celebration, it was a testament to the power of compassion, proving once again that leadership is about touching lives.
