The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has called off its planned picketing of Owena Press, the publisher of The Hope Newspaper.
The protest, which was slated for Monday, January 20, 2025, was suspended after the peaceful resolution of the issues that prompted the planned action.
The agreement reached includes the reversal of the redeployment of the Editor and other senior editorial staff and a commitment to uphold public service regulations within the organization.
The NUJ reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the interests of its members and promoting the growth of Owena Press as a public media institution.
Efforts by journalists, labor leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders contributed to resolving the matter amicably, ensuring industrial harmony within the organization.
