The Government of Ondo State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, who passed away on January 4, 2025.
Hon. Oluwatuyi succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic car accident on December 15, 2024, while traveling to Ibadan. Despite receiving medical care, his condition deteriorated, leading to his untimely demise.
Described as a stalwart of public service, Hon. Oluwatuyi was known for his dedication, administrative acumen, and significant contributions to the development of Ondo State. Over the years, he held several key positions, including Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as Secretary to the State Government.
Governor Akeredolu described Hon. Oluwatuyi as “a passionate and selfless leader whose efforts were instrumental in shaping Ondo State’s policies and governance.”
In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba ‘Wale Akinlosotu, the government expressed its profound grief and offered condolences to the Oluwatuyi family.
“Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi was a remarkable individual whose unwavering commitment to excellence in public service earned him the respect and admiration of all. He will forever be remembered for his invaluable contributions to our state’s growth and development,” the statement read.
