move to ease the burden of rising fuel costs during the festive season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
The new price, set at N899.50 per litre, marks a decrease from the previously reduced rate of N970 per litre on November 24, 2024.
This adjustment is aimed at alleviating transport costs for Nigerians during the holiday period.
In addition to the reduced price, the refinery has introduced a special purchase offer, allowing consumers to buy one litre of PMS on credit for every litre purchased with cash, provided the transaction is backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
Speaking on the initiative, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, said,
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit.”
Chiejina emphasized the refinery’s dedication to providing premium quality petroleum products that are not only affordable but also environmentally and engine-friendly.
He further noted that the refinery’s operations signify the end of Nigeria’s reliance on substandard imported products, which have previously posed risks to health, machinery, and the environment.
With a daily refining capacity of 650,000 barrels, the Dangote Refinery is positioned as the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is fully capable of meeting Nigeria’s demand for refined petroleum products while producing a surplus for export.
As the holiday season approaches, this initiative is expected to provide much-needed relief for Nigerians, reducing the financial strain associated with transportation costs and ensuring the availability of high-quality fuel across the nation.
