President Bola Tinubu has approved free nationwide transportation as part of measures to ease travel during the Christmas season. The initiative will include free train services across the country from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
Additionally, the Federal Government has renamed the University of Abuja to Yakubu Gowon University in honor of the former Head of State.
During the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, the 2025 Appropriation Bill was a key focus, with the government expressing optimism about boosting private sector involvement in the economy.
The meeting, which was the last for the year, also announced that the FEC would recess from December 18, 2024, to January 6, 2025
