Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Owonola Emmanuel Abiodun, Vice Chairman of the Ikale North Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Owonola, fondly known as “Equity,” passed away on Tuesday following a brief illness.
In a condolence message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa described Owonola as a vibrant and committed youth whose contributions to governance and community development left an indelible mark on Ikaleland and the state as a whole.
“It saddens me to learn of the unfortunate demise of Owonola Emmanuel Abiodun,” the Governor said. “He was a reflection of our deliberate effort to involve the youthful population in the governance of Ondo State.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa praised Owonola for his dedication to truth and justice, stating, “I found in him a passionate youth who brought so much equity to the political firmament of Ondo State as an intrepid youth who followed the truth without recourse to fearful consequences.”
Acknowledging the void left by Owonola’s passing, the Governor noted, “Ikaleland and Ondo State have lost a gem, but I take solace in the huge testaments of his good works by all and sundries.”
Extending his condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late Vice Chairman, the Governor added,
“On behalf of the government of Ondo State, I commiserate with every member of his family, his numerous friends, and associates on this painful exit. I pray that God will comfort us all. He will be sorely missed.”
Owonola’s contributions to political activism, social services, and community development have been widely acknowledged, earning him admiration across the state.
His death marks a significant loss for Ondo State’s youthful political landscape.
