The city of Ibadan, Oyo State, witnessed an outpouring of love and tributes as the late Madam Alice Moradeyo, mother of TVC News Ondo State correspondent Ayolomo Moradeyo, was laid to rest.
The solemn yet celebratory event honored her life of faith, dedication, and kindness, drawing dignitaries, family, and friends from all walks of life.
The funeral service, held at Christ Life Church, Adekile, Ibadan, showcased the respect and admiration the late Madam Moradeyo garnered in her lifetime.
Speaking at the event, Senior Pastor Lawrence Adebayo described her as “a virtuous woman who served God with unwavering commitment and lived an exemplary life marked by kindness and selflessness.”
“Mama Moradeyo was not only a good woman but also a shining example of godliness,” he said. “She gave her husband the support needed for greatness and instilled lasting values in her children. Her life was truly one of virtue, faith, and inspiration.”
The service also featured officiating ministers from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, including Pastors Bimbo Ajayi, Olasunkanmi Olayiwola, Olumide Laniyan, Sola Kayode, and Laide Ogungbade, who echoed similar sentiments about her impactful life.
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, a gesture that underscored the family’s prominence and the far-reaching legacy of the deceased.
Delivering the family’s remarks, Ayodele Moradeyo, the family head, emotionally reflected on his mother’s unparalleled love and guidance.
“Our mother was a cornerstone in our lives, teaching us the values of love, faith, and resilience. She was caring, loving, and gentle, always prioritizing the well-being of her family and community,” he said.
The body of Madam Moradeyo was interred at her husband’s residence in the Omowumi area of Ibadan.
A reception followed, featuring a sumptuous spread of local and continental dishes, symbolizing the family’s gratitude for the support shown.
Notable attendees included members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, led by Chairman Hakeem Gbadamosi, Triangle Magazine publisher Otunba Femi Salako, and Chief Aderinto.
Friends and colleagues from the media industry came in numbers to support their colleague Ayolomo Moradeyo during the significant occasion.
Adding to the atmosphere, popular musician Ayo Rawlings performed, infusing the event with celebratory notes as guests reflected on the remarkable life of the departed.
Madam Alice Moradeyo is survived by her children, Ayolomo Moradeyo, Kunle Moradeyo, Jumoke Ojo, and Temitope Adebayo, all of whom paid heartfelt tributes to their mother. Describing her as a “beacon of love and wisdom,” they vowed to uphold the values she instilled in them.
The funeral was not only a reflection of a life well-lived but also a testament to the enduring impact of Madam Moradeyo’s faith, love, and service. Her legacy continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
