Candidates of various political parties who contested in last Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State have expressed their support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, pledging to work with his administration to ensure the state’s progress.
During a meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Akure on Friday, 13 political parties—including Accord (A), Action Alliance (AA), Labour Party (LP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and others—reiterated their acceptance of the election results and readiness to contribute positively to governance.
Speaking at the meeting, the candidates acknowledged the need for unity after the polls. “Elections are over, and now is the time to work together for the betterment of Ondo State. We are ready to support the Governor’s vision,” one candidate stated.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, in response, commended the candidates and party chairmen for their maturity and patriotism, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in governance.
“This is a crucial moment for us as a state. The election is behind us, and it is our collective duty to move Ondo State forward,” the Governor said. “My administration is committed to inclusive governance where everyone has a voice, regardless of political affiliation.”
The Governor assured that his government would prioritize development projects and foster partnerships across party lines, stressing, “Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Ondo State.”
The meeting, described as unprecedented in its spirit of cooperation, highlighted the shared commitment to prioritize the state’s welfare above political differences.
