Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has received a significant boost in his re-election campaign, as the Ondo State Farmers’ Congress has officially endorsed his leadership ahead of next week’s gubernatorial election.
This show of support was made public during the unveiling of a 10 billion naira mixed-use housing project and the inauguration of new executive members of the Congress at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure.
Speaking at the event, Monilari Abayomi, President of the Ondo State Farmers’ Congress, praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s dedication to the agricultural sector, attributing recent progress and innovation among farmers to his policies.
Abayomi specifically pointed out the establishment of one of Africa’s largest goat breeding facilities as a milestone achievement.
“Under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, Ondo has not only set new standards in sustainable animal farming but also created thousands of job opportunities for our people,” he stated.
Abayomi further emphasized the importance of the new N10 billion mixed-use housing project, which is expected to provide essential infrastructure, community centers, and training facilities to boost productivity among farmers.
“This project is a testament to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s vision for a thriving agricultural sector,” he added.
The Congress committed to mobilizing 150,000 votes for the Governor, underscoring their desire for continuity in his developmental initiatives.
“We believe that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s full term will bring even greater progress to Ondo’s agriculture,” Abayomi expressed confidently.
In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed deep appreciation for the farmers’ endorsement, acknowledging their critical role in food security and the state’s economy.
“Your efforts will never be taken for granted. We are committed to ensuring you have all the support you need to succeed,” he said.
Highlighting his administration’s commitment to the agricultural community, Governor Aiyedatiwa outlined ongoing projects aimed at improving market access and enhancing productivity.
“We are investing in better rural-urban roads, storage facilities, mechanized farming, and affordable inputs, all designed to safeguard food security and create a more prosperous future for Ondo State,” he assured the farmers.
With the election approaching, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged farmers to vote in large numbers on November 16, pledging to expand upon his developmental initiatives if given a renewed mandate.
