With the Ondo State gubernatorial election just ten days away, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa took his campaign tour to Odigbo Local Government Area, visiting the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade, the Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, to discuss his vision for Ore’s future as an economic hub.
The Orunja lauded the governor’s developmental efforts, affirming, “It is the Ifa oracle that has chosen Aiyedatiwa, not any human being.
His mandate is a divine call from our ancestors, and there is nothing anyone can do to alter this.” The monarch encouraged Odigbo’s residents to back Aiyedatiwa in the upcoming November 16 election and offered prayers for his success.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation for the support from Odigbo’s traditional leaders and community members, promising to address their concerns regarding forest reserves and inter-community relations.
He also inaugurated a new block of classrooms at Isero Grammar School, a project supported by the Ondo Care Initiative.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Hamidu Takuro, emphasized that Odigbo locals were fully behind the governor’s re-election, assuring them that Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to development remains strong.
Representing Ore’s diverse community, Pastor Olarewaju Segun stressed the need for greater infrastructural investment, describing Ore as a “heterogeneous society” that needs support to thrive as a business hub.
In response, Aiyedatiwa pledged to include these infrastructure projects in the 2025 budget to drive economic growth and raise living standards in Ore, stating,
“We are committed to addressing these issues and positioning Ore as the economic center of Ondo State.”
The campaign concluded with visits to communities across Odigbo, led by Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami and key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign team.
