In a resounding show of support, the campaign tour of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa made a significant stop at Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area, where the Governor met with local stakeholders and addressed a crowd of enthusiastic supporters ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
At Ile-Oluji, Oba Olufaderin Adetimehin, the Jegun Olu-Ekun of Ile-Oluji, voiced his confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.
He described the Governor as a “divinely chosen” leader and praised him for his impactful achievements across various sectors in Ondo State.
The monarch pledged unwavering support, promising that the community’s support would translate into votes.
“When the election results are announced, Your Excellency, you will see that our promises are not empty words,” Oba Adetimehin declared, adding that he believed the Governor would secure victory.
Acknowledging local concerns, Oba Adetimehin highlighted issues such as electricity shortages and illegal mining activities.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the warm reception, assuring the people that his administration is actively working to curb illegal mining and address other community concerns.
During the Governor’s stop at Oke-Igbo, Princess Olusola Olufunke Babajide, the Regent of Oke-Igbo, praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for his inclusive leadership.
She commended him for appointing Oke-Igbo indigenes to key positions within his administration and outlined the community’s needs.
The Governor reaffirmed his dedication to the development of Oke-Igbo and assured that each request would be carefully considered.
In Bamikemo, Isaac Iluyomade Abiola, the Akemo of Bamikemo land, spoke on behalf of traditional rulers, thanking Governor Aiyedatiwa for establishing the Ile-Oluji West Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The Akemo remarked that the LCDA had alleviated developmental challenges in the region.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, recalling initial legal challenges, reiterated his commitment to advancing the area through rural-urban road projects and other essential infrastructure.
The tour drew support from prominent figures, including former Finance Commissioner Wale Akinterinwa and APC chieftain Mathew Oyerinmade (MATO), who urged the people to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa.
Hon. Festus Adefiranye, House of Representatives member for Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency, lauded the Governor’s performance, expressing confidence in a sweeping victory for the APC in the upcoming election.
The Governor concluded his address with assurances to the community: “Your Royal Highness, I deeply appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement. Rest assured, every request will be given the attention it deserves.”
