As the November 16 gubernatorial election draws near, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa continued his statewide campaign tour with a visit to Akoko South East Local Government Area, where he reassured residents of his commitment to spreading development projects throughout Ondo State.
During his stop on Thursday, Aiyedatiwa highlighted plans for security improvements, road infrastructure, and healthcare upgrades, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents in the area.
In a statement at the palace of Oba Akinyele Akinsunloye Oyolola, the Olisua of Isua Akoko, Aiyedatiwa emphasized his administration’s dedication to inclusive governance, ensuring that each part of the state feels its impact.
“We recognize the importance of security, and that is why we have continued to equip our security outfits with operational vehicles, especially the Amotekun Corps, and we are working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safety of our people,” he stated.
He also assured the community that the Isua road would soon be improved, facilitating better trade and movement within the region.
The monarch, Oba Akinsunloye, praised the Governor for appointing locals into his administration, saying,
“Your Excellency, we appreciate the progress your administration has made so far, especially in appointing sons and daughters of our council area into your administration. This gesture has given us a sense of belonging.”
Aiyedatiwa appealed to the people of Akoko South East to translate their support into votes, saying, “This election is our opportunity to keep moving forward. I urge you to protect the progress we have started by standing with us at the polls on November 16.”
