Shehu Dikko has been appointed as the chairman of the National Sports Commission after President Bola Tinubu announced the scrapping of the Ministry of Sports Development.
Dikko became a popular figure during his stint as Chairman of the League Management Committee (LMC).
The erudite sports administrator also worked as a consultant to the House of Representatives Sports Committee.
The NSC, which had previously been dissolved, is now tasked with overseeing the country’s sports policies and administration, a role last undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Sports Development.
