••Highlights Ondo State’s education reforms at ABUAD convocation
Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has praised Aare Afe Babalola, the founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), for his immense contributions to the development of education in Nigeria.
Speaking at the 12th convocation and 15th Founder’s Day event of ABUAD in Ado-Ekiti, Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded the institution for transforming the landscape of education in the country.
In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted how ABUAD has been a beacon of excellence in education over the past 15 years, producing graduates who have excelled across various sectors.
He acknowledged the visionary leadership of Aare Afe Babalola, noting that his dedication to providing world-class education has had a profound impact on human capital development in Nigeria.
“I want to commend our own Aare Afe Babalola for the huge investment he has put into the building of this great citadel of learning,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
“A huge investment that is driven by vision to offer to the world and humanity a world-class and reformative education of great standard.”
During the event, notable personalities, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; renowned lawyer, Mr. Damian Dodo, SAN; and Pastor Tunde Bakare, were honored for their contributions to society.
Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the awardees, emphasizing the recognition of their commitment to advancing humanity and the legal profession.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also took the opportunity to reaffirm his administration’s dedication to overhauling the education system in Ondo State.
He pointed to key initiatives such as increased funding for tertiary institutions, renovation of schools, and the recruitment of teachers as part of his administration’s far-reaching efforts to improve education.
“Let me congratulate the chairman, the Governing Council, and the management team of ABUAD for a job well done.
This institution has contributed in no small measure to the human capital development of our nation,” he added.
The governor also addressed the graduating class, encouraging them to use the knowledge and skills gained at ABUAD to make a positive difference in society.
