In a major announcement aimed at improving the welfare of civil servants, the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has implemented a new minimum wage of N73,000.
The announcement was made on Saturday during the Ondo Central Senatorial District APC gubernatorial campaign flag-off event held at the Ondo Township Stadium.
Speaking at the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized his administration’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of the state’s workforce.
“We are committed to not only implementing a fair and livable wage for our civil servants but also to the prompt and consistent payment of salaries,” he stated.
The new wage policy, he assured, would alleviate economic pressures on civil servants and enhance their standard of living.
The governor also highlighted his administration’s focus on career growth, promising regular promotions for civil servants.
“We recognize the hard work of our public servants, and it is our duty to reward their dedication through timely promotions and incentives,” he added.
This wage increase aligns with the governor’s broader agenda of economic growth and sustainable development, aiming to boost productivity and morale within the state’s civil service.
