In a move aimed at bolstering security efforts across Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the re-appointment of Akogun Adetunji Adeleye as the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun.
The re-appointment takes effect from May 21, 2024.
Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the outstanding performance of Amotekun under Commander Adeleye’s leadership over the past four years.
The governor noted that the security agency, under Adeleye’s command, had made significant strides in safeguarding lives and property in the state.
“We have seen commendable efforts from the Amotekun Corps in ensuring the safety of our communities. I am confident that Commander Adeleye’s leadership will continue to strengthen our security framework,” said Governor Aiyedatiwa.
The Governor also emphasized the need for continued cooperation between Amotekun and other security agencies, urging Commander Adeleye to remain steadfast in his duties.
“We must all remain dedicated and work together to ensure Ondo State remains safe and secure for all,” Aiyedatiwa added.
Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, announced the re-appointment in a statement on October 2, 2024.
