In a significant political turnaround, Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has hailed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a hard-fought victory in the recent Edo State governorship election.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to the party’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, who were declared governor-elect and deputy governor-elect, respectively.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, who played a pivotal role as the Chairman of the Election Planning and Strategy Committee for the APC in Edo, expressed gratitude to the voters for their trust in the party.
He stated, “I want to congratulate our party, the APC, Senator Okpebholo, and Hon. Idahosa on the well-deserved victory in the just concluded governorship election in Edo State.”
Highlighting the importance of this election, Aiyedatiwa said, “I join millions of our party faithful to give glory to God for granting us a peaceful victory to reclaim Edo back into the fold of the progressives where it clearly belongs.
” He acknowledged the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, crediting him for ensuring a fair electoral process.
The governor also praised the efforts of the APC’s national leadership, particularly Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the various campaign committees that contributed to this success.
“The peaceful conduct of the people of Edo before, during, and after the election is commendable,” he noted.
Looking ahead, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in Senator Okpebholo’s vision for Edo State, anticipating the implementation of progressive policies that will positively impact the lives of its citizens.
“I believe in the capacity of our new leaders to change the face of governance in Edo,” he affirmed.
This election marks a pivotal moment for Edo State, signaling a return to progressive governance under the APC.
