Two students, identified as Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola, who were reportedly riding a motorcycle were struck and killed on the spot by a speeding vehicle.
The victims are students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, lost their lives in a fatal road accident along the Akure-Ondo Expressway on Wednesday evening.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council for Ondo State confirmed the incident in a statement released on Thursday.
The statement, signed by the association’s chairman Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua, General Secretary Oluwanishola Ajibola, and Public Relations Officer Kehinde Blessing, expressed the deep sorrow felt by the student body.
“This loss is a heavy blow to the Ondo State student community,” the statement read. “The tragic deaths of Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola remind us of the fragility of life. These were young individuals with promising futures, and their loss is deeply felt.”
The heartbreaking incident has reignited concerns over road safety, particularly for students and pedestrians who frequently use the expressway.
