The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, inaugurated a seven-member Special Committee to oversee the planning and execution of the Union’s 2024 Press Week celebration. The inauguration took place at the NUJ Press Centre, Alagbaka-Akure.
The NUJ Chairman in Ondo State, Prince Leke Adegbite, while inaugurating the committee, tasked its members with ensuring a successful and memorable celebration. He emphasized that the committee was selected based on merit and experience.
“You were picked on merit and experience,” said Adegbite. “We are counting on the abilities of the committee members, and we are optimistic that you will not disappoint the union and its members. This union belongs to all of us, and we must work together to protect and advance it.”
Adegbite further expressed confidence that the 2024 Press Week would set a standard for future celebrations. He urged all journalists in the state to support the committee in achieving its goals.
In response, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated committee, Mrs. Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi, pledged to leverage the collective experience of the team to organize a successful weeklong event. She also called on all members of the union to extend their support.
The committee consists of Mrs. Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi as Chairman, David Fidelis as Secretary, and members including Ngozi Aduloju, Kehinde Adewumi, Oluwatosin Ighoteguono, Bada Jibril, and the NUJ State Secretary, Olaoluwa Meshack.
