Following Joe Biden’s withdrawal from seeking reelection in the upcoming US Presidential election on Sunday, the US president has nominated his deputy, Kamala Harris, to be the Democratic nominee in the upcoming election, subject to congressional ratification.
“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this”, a statement on Biden’s official X handle reads.
Kamala will battle former President of the United States, Donald Trump, the Republican’s candidate in the coming election.

The decision of Biden to thrash his reelection bid cannot be detached from his woeful outing at the CNN Presidential debate where Trump flawed him coupled with his recent health challenges which are major clog in his ambition.
