Former Deputy Governor of Late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Agboola Ajayi has emerged winner and flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead the November gubernatorial poll in the state.
The Primary Election which took place at the DOME Events Centre in Akure today saw Agboola Ajayi securing a significant victory, garnering 264 votes in the indirect mode of selection while the first runner up, Kolade Akinjo secured a total of 157 votes.
Agboola Ajayi’s emergence as the PDP candidate sets the stage for a competitive electoral contest in Ondo State as both candidates of the APC and PDP once served as deputies to the immediate past Governor of Ondo state, Late Rotimi Akeredolu under different terms.
The November election promises to be an exciting and closely watched race, with both major parties fielding strong candidates.
As political tensions continue to simmer ahead the general election, the electorates gazes are fixed the incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Agboola Ajayi as they outline their visions for the state and seek to win the trust and support of the people.
