Kogi State Governor and Chairman of the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election committee, Governor Ododo, has lauded stakeholders and party members in Ondo State for their exemplary conduct and impressive turnout during the direct primary election.
Governor Ododo expressed his commendation while receiving reports from members of the APC Governorship Primary Election committee, security agencies, and other stakeholders who monitored the election across the 18 local government areas in the state.
In his remarks, Governor Ododo praised the transparent nature of the process, citing reports from committee members, security agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) monitoring the election. He assured that the APC would produce a candidate capable of unifying the party ahead of the November 2024 governorship election in the state.
Addressing concerns over delays in the arrival of materials in some wards and local government areas, Governor Ododo expressed confidence that such delays did not significantly impact the conduct of the primary election.
Furthermore, Governor Ododo reassured stakeholders that concerns noticed in the revalidated membership list would not substantially affect the outcome of the primary election. He emphasized that the committee adhered to APC guidelines and relevant provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
Governor Ododo urged aspirants and their supporters to view the primary election as a friendly contest among members of the same political family, all striving to improve the party’s prospects for success in the November 2024 Governorship election in Ondo State.
